Pact, an international non-governmental organization, is hiring a Communications Intern in Abuja

Position Summary:

The Communications/IT intern will assist the Senior IT Officer with Pacts communication in all areas including social media handling, written communication and visual communication. While assisting with a wide range of projects, intern will gain hands-on experience and training in many aspects of the development sector.

Duration: 9 months

Responsibilities:

Communication: 60%

• Support the Senior IT Officer to promote Pact projects, goals, including development of social media content and media outreach
• Support the Senior IT Officer to develop and disseminate content that increase Pact visibility in Nigeria
• Support the Senior IT Officer to build and maintain relationships with journalists that will help advance our work
• Support the Senior IT Officer to ensure digital content aligns with Pact branding manual and standard
• Help the Senior IT Officer in reaching out to program team for content.
• Provide regular monitoring, analysis and reporting for all communications platforms.
• Support in maintaining Pact’s digital and online media presence
• Monitor social media and digital news sources for up to date information of the development sector.
• Support in the development and maintenance of Pact’s database of relevant media and PR contacts.

Program Documentation: 20%

• Assist with the implementation of the Strategic plan for communication for Pact.
• Assist in the production of day-to-day content across all Pact’s communications platforms, focusing on newsletter and digital content, website articles, blogs, press releases and updates and content for social media.
• Assist in developing and compiling success stories and newsletters for publication.

IT Support: 20%

• Support the IT unit in the maintenance of hardware, software and other systems.
• Assist in troubleshoot issues with equipment like printers, computers and servers.
• Support the IT unit in software updates, backups when requested.
• Any other tasks as assigned.
