    Postpartum Support Network Africa is hiring a Clinical Psychologist in Ikeja, Lagos Nigeria

    Duration of Assignment: 12 months (with a possibility of extension)

    Duties and responsibilities

    The Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for the organisation’s psychological interventions, contribute to program and communication content and will work directly under the supervision of the Assistant Director.

    Specifically, the incumbent will:

    • Facilitate one on one psychotherapy sessions for mothers
    • Facilitate group therapy sessions for mothers
    • Train mothers on how to facilitate Interpersonal Group Therapy sessions
    • Facilitate awareness lectures at hospitals
    • Facilitate psychology training sessions for volunteers
    • Facilitate emotional intelligence training sessions for physicians
    • Work with the communication department to create relevant social media content
    • Design new programs
    • Design monitoring and evaluation mechanism to measure the impact
    • Write articles, journals and success stories in relation to daily psychotherapy sessions
    • Conduct psychological research on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

    COMPETENCIES

    1. Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to manage processes and maintain accurate records. Ability to work independently and to maintain flexibility in working hours.
    2. Skilled Therapist: Applicant must be a skilled therapist and must demonstrate a sound knowledge of psychological systems and theories.
    3. Teamwork: Good interpersonal skills; ability to work with remote teams and a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with counterparts.
    4. Communication: Ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively orally.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Masters degree in Clinical psychology

    Work experience: At least 1 year of post-Masters Experience working as a therapist will be an added advantage.

    Language Proficiency: Fluency in written and spoken English and any other Nigerian Language

    Other skills: Computer literacy (Microsoft Application, G Suite); Familiarity with the World Global Goals and International Development regulations is regarded as an asset.
