Mobnia, a digital products and services company based in Lagos, is hiring a reliable software engineer (Backend).

The role

We are looking for a reliable software engineer with an in-depth knowledge PHP (besides frameworks) and some

server admin experience.

As a small company we need someone with a can-do attitude who is happy to jump in and get their hands dirty which

could be anything from learning some Node.js to solving a specific problem, building an API in Laravel or optimising

an AWS deployment.

Essential skills

• A desire to practice good work ethic is a must

• Good communications and technical writing skills

• In depth knowledge of object-oriented programming

• Can write secure, scalable, readable PHP (and have used laravel or symphony before)

• Experience designing MySQL/MariaDB databases

• Designing, building and consuming REST APIs

• Happy on the command line.

• Experience using GIT

• Familiarity with mobile and web development.

• Work as part of a focused team, but at the same time self-driven and able to work independently.

Nice to have

• Vagrant

• AWS (EC2/S3)

• Ability to identify and fix performance issues and bottlenecks

• Experience with other languages such as Node/JavaScript (Vue.js/Node.js) etc

• Good understanding of ES5/ES6 standardisation
