    Slatecube Talent Accelerator, a Digital Talent Accelerator for Career Development and Smart Workforce Management, is hiring a Special Assistant to the COO

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

    The Special Assistant to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) will work directly with the COO to support and advance special projects through research, analysis, internal and external communications, and meeting and event management. The Assistant will collaborate with team members across the organization as well as relevant external stakeholders to drive target organizational outcomes.

    The Assistant will gain a unique perspective of the inner workings of Slatecube, a multinational edtech startup, and will have an opportunity to work closely with a U.S.-based global professional. This position may also be considered as a springboard (after at least 12 months of exceptional performance) into other jobs at Slatecube HQ.

    The Assistant will report to the COO.

    Note: This position is principally remote, therefore consistent and reliable internet access is required, as is a device with quality video and audio capabilities. A monthly data stipend will be provided in addition to salary. Candidates should be based either in Lagos or Abuja.

    IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

    • Track COO’s tasks and projects to ensure appropriate prioritization of projects with respect to deadlines and organizational developments.
    • At the request of the COO, oversee key projects from inception to implementation, coordinating with internal departments as necessary.
    • Conduct preliminary research on a variety of topics; organize, analyze and present complex information to Slatecube’s Leadership Team.
    • Draft and distribute communications on special topics and initiatives including (but not limited to): strategic work plans, operations frameworks, funding and grant applications, business development resources, partner contracts, and organizational assessments.
    • Maintain an accurate and detailed calendar for COO, manage and log incoming scheduling requests, re-schedule meetings upon request, proactively communicate changes, and anticipate and respond to scheduling conflicts.
    • Ensure consistent and efficient interaction with other team members across the organization; demonstrate professionalism, poise, and tact under pressure and handle matters with sound judgement and confidentiality.
    • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.

    TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU’LL NEED:

    • A university degree in a relevant field, plus a minimum of 1 year of professional work history.
    • Experience in project management with a demonstrated ability to multitask and manage changing priorities.
    • A detail oriented, organized work style with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
    • A positive, tenacious attitude.
    • Exceptional verbal English communication skills and IMPECCABLE WRITING SKILLS.
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a preference for collaboration with proven success working with others; ability to work with high profile individuals externally, as well as collaborate internally.
    • The ability to work in a fast-paced and sometime unpredictable environment working well under pressure and tight deadlines.
    • The ability to consistently apply sound judgment and think critically.
    • The ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
    • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities; the ability to quickly and effectively interpret and organize data and information.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Drive, and general computer/tech competency.

    WE HAVE A PREFERENCE FOR:

    • Candidates with experience managing complex administrative and logistical tasks, such as event planning, meeting coordination, and arranging domestic and international travel.
    • Candidates currently participating in the NYSC (preferred but not mandatory).

    REMUNERATION:
