The Embassy of France to Nigeria (Abuja) is recruiting a Press Officer for January 2020.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Manage press coverage of French government and Embassy events;
• Contribute to the Embassy’s presence on the web (social media platforms, website);
• Monitor the Nigerian media (national, local newspapers, radios, TVs, social media) and maintain relations with journalists;
• Assist with Embassy event management;
• Prepare a daily morning press briefing;
• Establish and maintain contacts within relevant government Ministries, departments and agencies.

Requirements

• Master’s degree;
• Native English speaker;
• Knowledge of at least one of the main local languages;
• Knowledge of French is appreciated;
• Good writing skills;
• Thorough knowledge of computer tools and experience in using social media;
• Good knowledge of Nigerian media and politics;
• Good interpersonal skills.
