Technical Sales Officer at Dangote Group
Dangote Group, one of Nigeria’s most diversified business conglomerates, is hiring a Technical Sales Officer in Lagos.

Job Summary
- You will actively and successfully manage the end-to-end sales process; sourcing new customers, scoping customer requirements, providing unique solutions and liaising with the Quality departments to ensure consistency in the quality of products delivered to all customers; and limit customer complaints to the barest minimum.
Responsibilities
- Meet with selected construction companies/ developers/ architects/ authorities and owners to understand their needs in the segment
- Developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
- Persuading clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery
- Reinforce the DCP brand and company ethos at all times
- Prospect for new business customers; some leads will be provided by the marketing department; some will need to be self-generated
- Providing pre-sales demonstrations and product education, and after-sales support services
- Manage a number of key customer accounts and referrals
- Maintain a close working relationship with prospects and customers
- Visit prospects on site; reinforce customer loyalty; and gain customer's buy-in
- Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
- Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product meets client needs
- Keep up knowledge of system changes and industry development to include government initiatives
- Periodically provide accurate, detailed and timely information regarding all prospects and sales activities to the Director through the Head, Technical services Sales
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times and through every stage of the customer journey
- Undertake such other duties as may be required within the general scope of the job
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:- Degree in Engineering, Sciences, or equivalent
- Minimum of two years' experience of selling within a technical sector to businesses and end-users
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrable track record of achieving sales targets
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
- Can-do attitude to the workplace
- Ability to work as part of the team and develop good working relationships at all levels within the organization
- Ability to prospect for new business - business to business and business to consumer
- Proven tracked record in sales and a thorough understanding of the sales process
- General technical understanding of cement products and their uses
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management system
- Numerate with good organizational and prioritization skills
- Logical thinker with ability to recognize opportunities for creating new business sales and improving customer services
- Ability to manage change effectively
- Energetic, enthusiastic and resilient
- Ability to work using own initiative
