A school principal is the head administrator of a primary or secondary school. A school principal manages the day to day activities of a school by performing tasks such as employing teachers and other school workers, supervising the admission and discipline of students, and managing school budgets. In carrying out their responsibilities, they may be assisted by assistant principals and other support staff.
A school principal should be enthusiastic, responsible, objective, persuasive, visionary and good at planning and solving problems to manage their school, make good decisions and develop plans to move the school ahead. They should be able to communicate effectively and relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures.

- provide leadership and mentorship to staff and students

School principals usually work normal office hours, but may sometimes work evenings and weekends. They work in offices and classrooms. They may travel to attend conferences and seminars.

To become a school principal, you will need to have a teaching qualification and teaching experience. Some employers may require an additional degree and/or experience in management.
