Eat Drink Lagos - We are looking for an enthusiastic staff writer to join our team. As a staff writer, you should be able to perform research on different topics (mainly around food, drink, and the hospitality industry), develop original story pitches, write articles based on assigned prompts, and uncover newsworthy stories. You will work closely with the editor (Nosa) and contributing writers.

The bottomline is that you should be able to deliver good quality content like news posts, reviews, and features in excellent English.

This is a paid role and you can work from anywhere in the Lagos area as long as you meet your KPIs.

YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO:

• Perform research on different topics
• Uncover newsworthy stories
• Write content with readers needs in mind
• Ensure your pieces are accurate and objective
• Establish contacts and sources
• Maintain notes in electronic form
• Contribute to content idea generation for the website
• Stay up-to-date with local, national and international affairs

YOU NEED TO HAVE:

• At least three writing samples (of which one must be published)
• Excellent writing skills in English
• Experience using Google Docs and Slack
• A computer/access to a computer to type your stories
• Access to the internet
• The ability to follow strict deadlines
• An interest in food trends, headlines, and pop culture
